GENERAL AFTERCARE PRINCIPLES

Unless you have been given different instructions for your specific treatment:

• Do not pick, scratch, peel or manually remove flaking or crusting skin.

• Avoid introducing new skincare products while your skin is recovering.

• Use only the post-treatment skincare recommended by your practitioner during the initial healing period.

• Protect treated skin from direct sun exposure.

• Apply broad-spectrum SPF 50+ daily once appropriate for your treatment and skin barrier.

• Avoid excessive heat, including saunas, steam rooms and very hot showers, during the initial recovery period where advised.

• Avoid additional facial, laser, peel, needling or other advanced skin treatments until your skin has adequately recovered.

• Do not recommence retinoids, exfoliating acids or other potentially irritating active ingredients until advised or until the timeframe specified in your treatment-specific instructions.

WHAT IS NORMAL AFTER TREATMENT?

Temporary redness, warmth, swelling, sensitivity, dryness, tightness or flaking can be expected following many advanced skin treatments.

The type and duration of these reactions depend on the procedure performed, treatment intensity and your individual skin response.

Your treatment-specific section below explains what you can reasonably expect during recovery.

WHEN SHOULD I CONTACT VÉU?

Please contact VÉU if you experience a reaction that appears significantly different from the expected recovery described for your treatment.

Seek advice promptly if you develop:

• Increasing rather than improving pain
• Significant or rapidly increasing swelling
• Blistering outside of an expected treatment response
• Extensive weeping or discharge
• Signs of infection
• A rapidly worsening rash or unexpected skin reaction
• Any symptom that concerns you during your recovery

If you are experiencing symptoms of a severe allergic reaction or another medical emergency, seek urgent medical assistance rather than waiting for a response from the clinic.

IMPORTANT

The information on this page provides general post-treatment guidance and does not replace individual instructions provided by your practitioner.

Your treatment parameters, medical history and skin response may mean your aftercare differs from the general recommendations listed here.

If VÉU has provided you with individual aftercare instructions, those instructions take priority.
