BIOREPEEL AFTERCARE

Your guide to caring for your skin following BioRePeel.

BioRePeel is a professional chemical peel designed to support skin renewal, texture, clarity and overall skin quality.

Although BioRePeel is generally associated with minimal downtime, the skin has still undergone a professional chemical exfoliation and may be temporarily more sensitive following treatment.

Correct aftercare is important to support the skin barrier and minimise unnecessary irritation.

Typical visible downtime: approximately 0–5 days.

Some clients experience little to no visible peeling, while others may notice mild dryness or flaking over the following days.

Your skin does not need to visibly peel for the treatment to have worked.

IMMEDIATELY AFTER TREATMENT

Your skin may appear:

• Mildly pink or flushed
• Slightly warm
• Tight
• Sensitive
• Smooth or shiny
• Temporarily dry

Some clients experience almost no visible reaction immediately after treatment.

This is normal.

FIRST 24 HOURS

Keep your skincare simple and gentle.

Avoid unnecessary touching, rubbing or scratching of the treated skin.

Do not exfoliate.

Use only gentle, non-irritating skincare during the initial recovery period.

CAN I WASH MY FACE?

Yes, once advised following your treatment.

Use:

• Cool to lukewarm water
• A gentle cleanser
• Clean hands

Pat the skin dry gently.

Avoid:

• Hot water
• Facial scrubs
• Cleansing brushes
• Exfoliating cleansers
• Rough face cloths

FIRST 24–48 HOURS

Avoid:

• Retinol / retinoids
• AHAs
• BHAs
• Glycolic acid
• Salicylic acid
• Exfoliating toner pads
• Physical scrubs
• Benzoyl peroxide
• Strong or acidic vitamin C formulations
• Other potentially irritating active skincare

Also avoid excessive heat while the skin remains sensitive.

This includes:

• Saunas
• Steam rooms
• Hot yoga
• Very hot showers

Avoid strenuous exercise and excessive sweating for approximately 24 hours, particularly if the skin remains warm or flushed.

DAYS 2–5

Some clients may begin experiencing:

• Mild dryness
• Tightness
• Light flaking
• Mild peeling
• Temporary sensitivity

This can be part of the normal post-peel response.

Other clients experience no visible peeling at all.

Both responses can be normal.

IF YOUR SKIN STARTS PEELING

Do not:

• Pick
• Pull
• Scratch
• Scrub
• Exfoliate
• Use acids to accelerate the peeling

Allow all flaking to shed naturally.

Premature removal can increase irritation and the risk of post-inflammatory pigmentation.

WHAT SKINCARE SHOULD I USE?

During the initial recovery period, keep your routine simple.

MORNING

Gentle cleanser
Hydrating / barrier-supportive moisturiser
Broad-spectrum SPF 50+

EVENING

Gentle cleanser
Hydrating / barrier-supportive moisturiser

Avoid introducing new products immediately following your peel.

WHEN CAN I RETURN TO MY NORMAL SKINCARE?

GENTLE SKINCARE

Your usual gentle cleanser, hydrating serums and basic moisturiser can generally be used once the skin feels comfortable, provided they do not contain irritating active ingredients.

ACTIVE SKINCARE

Retinol, retinoids, exfoliating acids and other strong corrective products should generally remain paused for approximately 5–7 days.

This includes:

• Retinol / retinal
• Prescription retinoids
• Glycolic acid
• Lactic acid
• Salicylic acid
• AHAs / BHAs
• Exfoliating toner pads
• Benzoyl peroxide
• Physical exfoliants
• Strong vitamin C formulations

Only restart these once the skin is completely settled with no significant redness, sensitivity or active peeling.

If your skin is still peeling at Day 7, wait until peeling has stopped and the barrier feels normal before restarting.

Reintroduce active products gradually rather than restarting everything on the same night.

If your practitioner has provided a different timeframe based on your treatment, follow those instructions.

MAKEUP

Makeup can generally be resumed after approximately 24 hours, provided the skin feels comfortable and remains intact.

If your skin is significantly red, irritated or actively peeling, allow additional time.

Use clean brushes, sponges and applicators.

Do not aggressively rub or exfoliate the skin when removing makeup.

EXERCISE

Avoid strenuous exercise and excessive sweating for approximately 24 hours.

If your skin remains particularly warm or sensitive, wait longer before returning to intense exercise.

SUN PROTECTION

Sun protection is extremely important following any chemical peel.

Use a broad-spectrum SPF 50+ every morning.

Reapply according to product directions and your level of exposure.

Also:

• Avoid unnecessary direct sun exposure
• Wear a hat outdoors
• Seek shade
• Do not intentionally tan

Freshly exfoliated skin can be more vulnerable to UV exposure and post-inflammatory pigmentation.

CAN I HAVE OTHER SKIN TREATMENTS?

Allow your skin to recover fully before undergoing another advanced treatment.

This may include:

• Microneedling
• RF microneedling
• Laser treatments
• Tixel
• Other chemical peels
• Dermaplaning
• Waxing

The appropriate interval depends on the treatment you are planning next.

If you're unsure, contact VÉU before booking another procedure.

WHAT NOT TO DO

During recovery:

• Do not pick peeling skin
• Do not manually exfoliate
• Do not use scrubs
• Do not use cleansing brushes
• Do not wax recovering skin
• Do not intentionally tan
• Do not use at-home chemical peels
• Do not use at-home microneedling devices
• Do not try to make your skin peel more

More peeling does not equal a better treatment.

WHEN WILL MY SKIN LOOK NORMAL?

Many clients have little to no visible downtime following BioRePeel.

A general recovery may look like:

Day 1: Mild redness, warmth or tightness may occur.

Days 2–3: Skin may feel slightly dry or tight.

Days 3–5: Mild flaking or peeling may occur in some clients.

Days 5–7: Skin generally feels increasingly settled.

Some clients will experience no peeling at all.

WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS?

Once the initial treatment response has settled, the skin may appear:

• Brighter
• Smoother
• Fresher
• More refined
• More even in appearance

Results are progressive, particularly when BioRePeel is performed as part of a treatment course.

The number and frequency of treatments recommended will depend on your skin concern and treatment plan.

WHAT IS NORMAL — AND WHAT ISN'T?

You do not need to visibly peel for your treatment to have worked.

For the first several days:

Keep your skincare simple.
Hydrate your skin.
Wear SPF 50+.
Avoid strong actives.
Never pick peeling skin.

Once your skin is completely settled, your normal active skincare can gradually be reintroduced.
