WHAT IS PRX-PLUS?

HOMOCYSTEIC ACID

Homocysteic Acid is one of the defining components of PRX-PLUS and differentiates it from earlier PRX formulations.

It forms part of the treatment's approach to skin revitalisation and is used within the patented formulation to support improvement in the appearance of skin quality, firmness and ageing skin.

AMMONIUM TRICHLOROACETATE — ATCA

PRX-PLUS contains Ammonium Trichloroacetate (ATCA).

While traditional trichloroacetic acid is widely associated with chemical peeling, PRX-PLUS has been formulated specifically to provide professional skin stimulation without behaving like a conventional peeling treatment.

CITRIC ACID

PRX-PLUS VS A CHEMICAL PEEL

Although PRX-PLUS contains an ATCA component, we don't treat it like a conventional chemical peel.

Traditional chemical peeling intentionally creates controlled exfoliation of the skin. Depending on the strength and depth of the peel, this may result in redness, shedding, flaking or visible peeling while new epidermal tissue is revealed.

PRX-PLUS takes a different approach.

Its professional formulation is designed to provide skin stimulation with minimal disruption to the surface, meaning clients generally do not experience the dramatic peeling associated with traditional TCA resurfacing.

This is why PRX-PLUS can be an excellent option for clients who want to improve their skin but cannot accommodate significant downtime.

WHAT DOES THE TREATMENT FEEL LIKE?

The skin is thoroughly assessed and prepared before PRX-PLUS is applied.

The solution is then professionally worked into the treatment area using a specific application technique.

During application, you may experience sensations such as:

PRX-PLUS may form part of a broader skin-remodelling program incorporating other treatments where appropriate.

Depending on your skin and goals, your treatment plan may include modalities targeting pigmentation, collagen remodelling, scarring, texture, vascular changes or skin laxity.

Importantly, combination treatments and their timing are determined individually. More treatment does not automatically mean better treatment.

The integrity of the skin barrier, inflammation, pigment risk and appropriate recovery intervals are always considered when building your plan.

PRX-PLUS has been developed specifically to provide professional skin rejuvenation without the significant peeling and recovery associated with traditional medium-depth chemical resurfacing.

Most clients can return to their normal routine following treatment.

Temporary redness, warmth, sensitivity, dryness or light flaking can still occur.

We will provide appropriate aftercare instructions based on your skin.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?

While a single PRX-PLUS treatment can be performed when an immediate skin refresh is desired, a treatment series is generally preferred when addressing established concerns.

A typical program may involve approximately 5 treatments, commonly spaced around two weeks apart, followed by maintenance according to the individual skin.

Your treatment schedule at VÉU is never prescribed solely according to a generic protocol.

We consider what your skin actually requires.

Some clients may need PRX-PLUS alone.

Others may achieve a better outcome through a carefully planned combination of PRX-PLUS and other skin-remodelling modalities.
