Potenza is an advanced radiofrequency (RF) microneedling treatment designed to improve acne scarring, skin laxity, enlarged pores, uneven texture and visible signs of ageing.
The technology combines controlled microneedling with the delivery of radiofrequency energy directly into targeted layers of the skin.
The microneedles create precise mechanical micro-injuries while RF energy generates controlled thermal coagulation within the dermis. Together, these mechanisms initiate a wound-healing response that stimulates collagen and elastin production, dermal remodelling and tissue renewal.
Because treatment depth and RF delivery can be customised, Potenza allows us to target different tissue levels according to the individual concern and desired clinical outcome.

HOW DOES POTENZA WORK?
Potenza uses ultra-fine microneedles to penetrate the skin at controlled depths.
Once the needles reach the targeted tissue, RF energy is delivered beneath the skin's surface, producing controlled thermal stimulation within the dermis.
This creates two complementary mechanisms of action:
Mechanical stimulation from microneedling initiates the body's natural wound-healing response.
Radiofrequency energy creates controlled thermal coagulation within targeted tissue, providing an additional stimulus for collagen contraction and longer-term remodelling.
Over the following weeks and months, this regenerative response can progressively improve dermal structure, texture, firmness and overall skin quality.
CUSTOMISABLE RF TECHNOLOGY

Potenza incorporates monopolar and bipolar radiofrequency capabilities, allowing energy delivery to be selected according to the treatment objective.

ACNE SCAR & TEXTURE REMODELLING
Potenza can be particularly beneficial for appropriate forms of atrophic acne scarring and significant textural irregularity.
Acne scars involve structural changes within the dermis and can vary considerably in depth and morphology.
By combining controlled needle penetration with RF energy, Potenza allows targeted stimulation within areas of altered dermal collagen to encourage progressive remodelling.
Not every acne scar responds to the same treatment.
For more complex scarring, Potenza may form part of a multimodal scar-management plan, with different treatments selected according to the individual scar types present.
SKIN TIGHTENING & FIRMNESS
Potenza can also be used when the treatment objective includes skin firmness and early laxity.
RF-generated heat creates controlled thermal stimulation within the targeted tissue, encouraging collagen contraction followed by longer-term collagen and elastin remodelling.
Results develop progressively and are intended to create a natural improvement in firmness, elasticity and skin qualityrather than dramatically altering facial features.
WHAT DOES POTENZA FEEL LIKE?
A topical anaesthetic is generally applied prior to treatment to improve comfort.
During treatment, clients may experience pressure, vibration, warmth and brief prickling sensations as the needles penetrate the skin and RF energy is delivered.
Treatment sensation varies according to the anatomical area, needle depth and energy settings required.
Temporary pinpoint bleeding can occur and may be an expected treatment response.
DOWNTIME & RECOVERY
Most clients should allow approximately 2–5 days of visible downtime, although deeper or more intensive scar-remodelling treatments may require longer.
First 24–48 hours:
Redness, warmth and mild-to-moderate swelling are common. The skin may feel similar to a sunburn.
Days 2–3:
Redness and swelling generally begin to settle. The skin may feel tight, dry, sensitive or slightly rough.
Days 3–5:
Mild dryness, flaking or tiny pinpoint crusts may remain as the skin continues to recover.
Following more intensive treatment, residual redness, swelling or sensitivity may occasionally persist beyond five days.
Clients should avoid picking, exfoliating or disrupting the treated skin during recovery.
Individualised post-treatment instructions will be provided.
WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS?
Potenza results are progressive rather than immediate.
Some early improvement in skin quality may become apparent once the initial treatment response has settled.
However, collagen and elastin remodelling occurs gradually, with improvements continuing to develop over the following weeks and months.
For acne scarring, significant texture or laxity, a course of treatments may be recommended.
The number and frequency of treatments will depend on the clinical indication, treatment intensity and individual response.
POTENZA VS TRADITIONAL MICRONEEDLING
Both treatments create controlled micro-injury, but they work differently.
Traditional microneedling uses mechanical needle penetration to stimulate collagen induction without thermal energy.
Potenza RF Microneedling combines mechanical micro-injury with radiofrequency energy delivered into the targeted tissue.
The additional thermal component allows Potenza to provide a different level of dermal stimulation and makes it particularly useful when treatment goals include scar remodelling, textural correction and skin firmness.
The most appropriate modality is selected according to your skin and clinical indication.
